I am a Professor of Economics at the Lam Family College of Business, San Francisco State University. I earned my Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Riverside.

My research topics are situated in macro/monetary economics, household finances, inequality, and housing economics. My current work examines the implications of student loan debt on wealth outcomes for US households; read about my work funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation here.

I believe in fostering an environment where education is accessible to all. I regularly advise students about the economics profession and love to collaborate with them on research. Improving diversity in the economics profession is important to me. To this end, I also serve as the liaison for the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP) and partner with R-Ladies.

I have previously worked in the area of Development Economics at the World Bank and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). I am an affiliate faculty at the Applied Housing Research Initiative
